On Aug. 26, 2019, Life Care Centers of America honored Nina Willingham, senior executive director at Life Care Center or Sarasota, Florida, with one of two President’s Awards for the Southeast Division.
The President’s Award, given during Life Care’s annual management meeting at its headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, recognizes distinguished service in a long-term health care management role. The Southeast Division includes 21 skilled nursing and rehab facilities in Florida.
Willingham was praised for her commitment to continually pursuing excellence, as well as leading Life Care Center of Sarasota to earn and maintain a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She led her facility to earn the Gold – Excellence in Quality National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living in 2013 (only 43 centers nationwide have earned that honor since the program began). She has also served as president of the Florida Health Care Association.
Several of Life Care’s successful administrators have benefited from Willingham’s mentorship.
“Nina has demonstrated professional skill and compassion in dispatching her responsibilities to the associates, residents and families she serves,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “She has uniquely demonstrated a leadership style for others to emulate. This is a distinguished award to receive because it goes to the heart of our mission.”
Fifteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care.
