Life Care Center of Sarasota, a skilled nursing and rehab facility, was recently named a 2018-2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Nursing Home for Short-Term Rehab.
This year, the publication changed how it lists its ratings. Centers around the country were rated in an Overall category, and those that offer short-term rehabilitation were rated in an additional category – Short-Stay Rehab. According to Mark White, vice president of specialty marketing at U.S. News, “Only 19 percent of U.S. nursing homes earned at least one badge; some earned both.”
The Short-Stay Rehab category takes into account staffing, outcomes, resident complaints and processes of care, as well as vaccination percentages, nursing staff training and other measures.
“It is always very rewarding to see the results of our dedication and hard work be recognized by outside organizations each year,” said Nina Willingham, senior executive director at the center. “I am extremely proud of the work by our associates in earning this recognition.”
The facility is also ranked at five out of five stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
