  • The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is the official art museum for the state of Florida and largely the original private collection of John Ringling, founder of the Ringling Bros. Circus. With more than 10,000 pieces in 21 galleries, art includes paintings, sculptures, photographs and tapestries spanning more than 2,000 years.
  • Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a 14-acre garden with more than 20,000 plants. Known for its 6,000 variations of orchids, the gardens also feature bonsai trees, plants native to Florida and exotic plants.
  • Siesta, Longboat, Lido and St. Armands Keys are consistently ranked some of the best beaches in the nation by TripAdvisor, Dr. Beach and the Travel Channel. These keys have wooded trails, kayaking, white beaches, golf courses as well as numerous restaurants and shops.
  • Mote Marine Laboratory is a marine animal rescue facility that focuses on the research of sharks, sea turtles, dolphins and more than 100 other species of marine life.
